How to Change Your Business Hours on Google
Having a Google My Business profile is key for small businesses, especially those in the retail and restaurant industries. A Google My Business offers business owners benefits, such as controlling how your businesses appears (name, address, phone, photos, hours, etc) in Google Search and Google Maps. In addition, owners can solicit reviews from customers, and offer feedback to those reviews.
If you don’t already have a Google My Business profile, you’ll either need to claim ownership of your business (provided Google has already created a listing), or add your business. You can do that here: https://business.google.com/add.
- Once you’ve profile claimed or created your profile, login to GMB here: https://business.google.com.
- Click the “Info” tab.
- You can edit your regular hours by clicking the pencil icon next to the hours listings.
- If you plan to offer special extended hours for Christmas time, or plan to close days, you can add these exceptions by clicking the pencil icon to the right of “Add Special Hours”. This feature will allow you to specify that you are either closed on particular days, or are operating with special hours.
- Once done editing the special hours days, click “Apply”. The changed will be pending for a short period of time while Google reviews them, then will be shown publicly.
